Discover how audit trips for accountants help develop skills, earn practical hours, and explore unique destinations like Watson Lake, Yukon.
At RHN, we believe hands-on experience is essential for developing top-notch accountants.
That’s why we organize audit trips for accountants that allow our team members to earn critical practical hours towards their professional designations while gaining exposure to diverse clients and industries.

An audit trip for accountants typically involves traveling to a client’s location to perform an on-site audit of their financial records, operations, or internal controls.
The purpose of such a trip is to ensure that the client’s financial statements are accurate, compliant with relevant accounting standards, and free of material misstatements.
Audit trips provide accountants, particularly those pursuing certifications like CPA, with valuable opportunities to develop their professional skills and accumulate practical hours required for their designation.
Through these immersive experiences, our team members gain the skills and insights that can only come from real-world practice, building confidence and expertise that enhance the quality of service we provide.
“These trips have been an invaluable part of my professional journey,” shares Mandy Lau, Intermediate Accountant.
“Working in different environments has deepened my understanding of the financial challenges our clients face and has accelerated my path to becoming a designated accountant.”

Recently, some of our team had the incredible opportunity to travel to Watson Lake, Yukon for an audit trip. Alongside their work, they made time to explore the local sights and take in the unique beauty of the Yukon.
First on their itinerary was the Northern Lights Centre, a facility built in 1996 where people can go view and learn about the aurora borealis.
Although they didn’t catch the lights, the centre offered a captivating experience, showcasing the fascinating science and stunning visuals behind this natural phenomenon.
Another highlight was the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake, a charming landmark featuring thousands of signs from around the world, adding a touch of adventure to their visit.

This impressive collection started in 1942 when a homesick American soldier erected an homage to his own hometown in Illinois. Today, there are nearly 100,000 signs at the site, alongside the distance of each featured location from the Yukon.
Finally, they couldn’t miss the chance to visit the S.S. Klondike in Whitehorse, one of Canada’s few remaining steam-powered paddlewheelers. Exploring this historic riverboat provided a glimpse into the Klondike Gold Rush era, making it a memorable stop on their Yukon journey.
Our commitment is to offer growth opportunities that lead to a stronger, more skilled team—and these trips are just one of the ways we invest in that vision.
