Did you know?
Most Canadian income tax and benefit returns are due on April 30 each year (or the next business day when that date falls on a weekend or holiday). Self-employed individuals and their spouses or common-law partners have until June 15 to file their return, but any balance owing is still due no later than the April deadline (e.g. the next business day after April 30).
The Canada Revenue Agency explains the different payment methods they accept, and how to make payment arrangements if you cannot pay your balance owing by the tax-filing deadline, on Canada.ca. You can pay online through My Payment, your bank or credit union, pre-authorized debit via My Account, or at your financial institution with a remittance voucher.
